General information
Diagnostics and treatment of rubromycosis (rubrophytosis), which affects the epidermis with the opportunistic anthropophilic fungus "red trichophyton" (Trichophyton rubrum), require a differentiated approach.
It is complicated by:
- systemic disorders with a decrease in the fungicidal properties of the epidermis;
- the influence of antibiotic, antiallergic, anticancer and hormonal agents.
Procedure
The choice of treatment for rubromycosis depends on many factors: the specificity of the infection, the severity and degree of localization, gender, age and history of chronic diseases.
Treatment of the feet, hands and generalized mycosis - with antibiotics and immunostimulants is accompanied by local therapy (fungicides and fungistatics), with the removal of hyperkeratotic horny masses.
Etiological and pathogenetic therapy of nail mycosis (onychomycosis) is carried out with the identification and correction of the underlying concomitant pathology, and improving microcirculation of the distal parts of the extremities.
Mycosis of smooth skin (epidermophytosis), and in particular rubromycosis of the groin area is rarely initiated by rubrophytons, most often its cause is epidermophytons. Taking this feature into account, the greatest effect is achieved by prolonged antifungal therapy with antifungal drugs (lamisil, mycoseptin, clotrimazole) with treatment of lesions with fucorcin or iodine tincture.
Indications
The disease begins with hyperemia, dryness and peeling of the skin with the appearance of microcracks and the formation of a white coating.
Clinical forms:
- Rubromycosis of the feet - affects the skin of the soles and interdigital folds, which becomes dry and red, with subsequent expansion on the dorsal and lateral surfaces. Characterized by clearly defined skin grooves and abundant peeling.
- Rubromycosis of the nails - first of all, the nail plates of the feet (less often the hands) are affected, hyperkeratosis and destruction change their color and shape. Further development entails delamination of the bed and nail plates.
- Rubromycosis of smooth skin manifests itself in the growth of ring-shaped formations in areas of natural folds - armpits, mammary glands and groin area (inguinal rubomycosis).
- Generalized rubromycosis affects any areas of the skin with the manifestation of severe itching and peeling, and resembles other dermatoses. Causes accumulation of fungal elements in the lymph nodes.
Its origin is based on: long-term local damage to nails and feet, the dissemination of which is enhanced by problems with internal organs, nervous and endocrine systems, the use of steroids and antibiotics.
The disease is not always accompanied by itching and may not cause discomfort.
Contraindications and complications
It has a high potential for contagiousness. The picture is identical to other types of dermatoses. Characterized by an increased tendency to relapse, with an exacerbation of existing pathologies.
Prices and clinics
The external similarity of rubromycosis with various types of dermatoses such as: Duhring's dermatitis, lupus erythematosus, neurodermatitis, staphylococcal sycosis - requires accurate identification of the causes and type of disease, a comprehensive examination with differential diagnostics, including: scrapings, sowing, cytological and cultural studies of the material, fluorescent diagnostics with a Wood's lamp.
Therefore, depending on their results, the conclusions of specialists, the condition and process, the prescribed course and medications - the timing and cost can vary widely.
