General information

The categories of this group include: pityriasis versicolor (tinea versicolor), piedra (nodular trichosporia), scab (favus), sporotrichosis and pseudomycosis (caused by corynebacterium) - axillary trichomycosis (trichonocardiosis) and erythrasma. Infectivity is very low, pronounced inflammatory phenomena are absent.

A pronounced effect is achieved with fungicidal and keratolytic drugs, resorcinol and salicylic 5% alcohol compositions, sulfuric (in a concentration of up to 20%) or 5% salicylic ointment.

Extensive lesions are treated with a composition of 6% hydrochloric acid with sodium thiosulfate (60%).

The course of procedures is four to six days, repeated after one to two months.

Preventive measures: elimination of excessive sweating by treating the surface of the areas with 2% salicylic or boric-salicylic alcohol solution. It is allowed to use 8% vinegar solution with vodka.

Erythrasma

The therapy is similar to the previous one, but in weaker doses.

A pronounced therapeutic effect is achieved by complex treatment: externally - rubbing 5% erythromycin ointment (12-18 days) and oral administration of erythromycin (1 gram per day).

Prevention: local treatment with 2% boric-salicylic alcohol solution with dusting with boric acid.

Diagnostics and treatment of keratomycosis are complicated by disorders of the main systems of the body (vascular, nervous and endocrine), as well as the influence of antibiotic, antiallergic, anticancer and hormonal agents taken for a long time earlier.

The picture of mycoses manifestations has a high polymorphism and begins with hyperemia, dryness, desquamation of scales, formation of a specific floury coating.

Due to the presence of characteristic clinical symptoms, diagnostics of keratomycosis is not difficult. To identify simple forms, Balzer's iodine test is used (when the surface is treated with 5% iodine tincture, a more intense color appears on the affected areas).

Hidden foci are identified in a complex manner - by Wood's lamp diagnostics with microscopic examination of the identified pathologies.

Lingena

Yellowish-brown and pinkish spots of a non-inflammatory nature appear on the affected areas of the skin, prone to gradual growth and merging. Over time, the color of the spots changes, becoming dark brown or milky-coffee, which determined its name - "multicolored lichen". The itching is insignificant and is accompanied by a mucoid peeling, which gave it another name - "pityriasis versicolor".

The lesions most often affect the chest, back, neck and abdomen, less often - the lateral surfaces of the body and the outer part of the shoulders, sometimes the head.

It is characterized by a long course (months and years) with frequent manifestations of relapses.

It is differentiated from syphilitic roseola. The main differences are other symptoms of syphilis with a positive serological reaction.

Erythrasma

Non-inflammatory lesions appear on the skin of large folds and have a brown (light) or reddish (brick-colored) color. They tend to merge to form large forms with clear scalloped outlines.

In women, the folds of the mammary glands and armpits are more often affected, in men - the inguinal-femoral region of the scrotum.

The cause of chronic manifestations with frequent relapses are excess weight and increased sweating.

Differentiated with inguinal epidermophytosis.
