Interference therapy is a physiotherapeutic method of treatment with interference currents.
Interference therapy is a physiotherapeutic method of treatment with interference currents.

General information

Interference is formed in a wide zone of the interelectrode space of deep tissues, exerting an exciting effect on nearby organs. In this case, the following biophysical processes occur in the body:

  • neurotrophic stimulation of internal organs;
  • stimulation of blood and lymph circulation;
  • suppresses the impulse activity of spasms and pain sensitivity.
The main goal of the interference therapy technique is to improve peripheral blood flow, tone the main arteries and enhance microcirculation.

Through the technique, tissues are saturated with oxygen, toxins are removed from the cells, and metabolic processes are improved.

Therapeutic effects of the procedure:

  • antispasmodic;
  • bactericidal;
  • trophic-regenerative.

Procedure

Preparation

A course of procedures is agreed upon with a physiotherapist, and possible contraindications to the manipulation are identified.

Interference therapy

Considering the localization of the effect, the procedure is carried out lying down or sitting. Two pairs of metal electrodes with hydrophilic pads are installed on the pathological focus. The current strength is determined by the patient's sensations. There should be no acute pain. The patient feels an unpleasant burning and tingling sensation from the vibrations. Due to tissue adaptation to the Nemec current, its frequency is changed during the procedure. The total duration of the session is about 30 minutes.

Rehabilitation period

There is no recovery period.

Indications

The technique is used for:

  • neuritis,
  • arthritis,
  • neuralgia,
  • shingles,
  • gastritis,
  • pancreatitis,
  • colitis,
  • obstruction of the bile ducts,
  • bone fractures after immobilization.

Contraindications

The procedure is strictly prohibited if there is a pacemaker or other foreign metal devices in the body. Such therapy is not recommended for thrombophlebitis, skin problems at the site of electrode placement.

Complications

The risk of complications is minimal. Consequences after therapy are possible only in case of improper technology of manipulation.
