General Information

This acute viral disease, involving liver dysfunction, dyspepsia, and catarrhal symptoms, has a 28-45 day incubation period, reducible to one week during outbreaks.

In children (7-14 years), it’s mostly asymptomatic. Transmission occurs via water, food, or household contact.

Compared to other viral diseases, hepatitis A is considered benign due to milder symptoms.
