Ureteroceles. Prices, reviews, ratings
General information
With a ureterocele, the intravesical segment of the ureter grows into the bladder. This disease manifests itself in both women and men, and most often in childhood.
There are two types of ureterocele: unilateral and bilateral. Usually in women, ureterocele comes out through the urethra as a dark red mucus-covered formation. In boys, this cyst falls out in the prostatic region of the urinary tract.
There are several reasons for the appearance of a cyst in the bladder in both boys and girls:
- congenital narrowing of the ureter;
- elongation of the intramural segment;
- infringement of the ureter in the intramural segment.
Ureterocele is treated only surgically, so if it occurs, surgery cannot be avoided.
Diagnosis of ureterocele:
- urological examination of the patient for the presence of recurrent urinary tract infections;
- urinalysis, which can reveal an excessive content of red blood cells and white blood cells, as well as detect purulent education;
- bacteriological analysis of urine;
- ultrasound of the bladder and ureter;
- ultrasound of the kidneys.
To prevent ureterocele, it is imperative to do an ultrasound of the kidneys and all organs of the urinary system several times a year.
Procedure
Preparation
Before surgery to remove ureterocele, each patient must undergo the following preparation:
- cystography for an X-ray image of the ureterocele, which allows you to see the full picture of the cyst growth, as well as determine the presence of reflux into the adjacent ureter;
- cystoscopy;
- clinical urine analysis and blood;
The process of removing ureterocele
Modern equipment and high professionalism of doctors allow us to use the following methods of surgical treatment:
- If the cyst is large, excision of the ureterocele is used. First, anesthesia is administered, and the patient is under general anesthesia throughout the operation. Then a special antibacterial substance is administered to stop urinary tract infections. After this, the ureterocele is dissected and removed directly in the urethra. This operation lasts from half an hour to an hour.
- Endoscopic surgery on ureterocele. It is performed using an endoscope. The endoscope first dissects the ureterocele, and then forms a new ureteral orifice.
- If the ureterocele leads to kidney failure, then a nephrectomy is additionally performed.
Rehabilitation period
The patient's recovery period usually lasts for five days. Discharge from the clinic occurs when the patient has normal urination.
Indications
The following are indications for the procedure:
- urine with pus during urination;
- ureterocele prolapsing from the urethra.
Contraindications
Ureterocele removal surgery is contraindicated:
- in case of failure of one or both kidneys;
- in case of blood clotting disorders;
- in the presence of infectious diseases of the urinary tract (first, procedures are carried out to eliminate them).
