Determination of immunoglobulin levels. Prices, reviews, ratings
General information
Determining the level of immunoglobulins plays an important role in the success of treatment, because when the number of pathogenic formations in the body decreases, the level of reaction also decreases. Immunoglobulin A (IgA) – provides local immunity. Immunoglobulin M (IgM) – the first are produced in response to acute infection, providing primary immunity. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) – make up about 80% of all immunoglobulins. IgG antibodies are antibodies of the secondary immune response to foreign substances. Immunoglobulin E (IgE) – are responsible for the development of allergic reactions. IgE are contained mainly on skin cells, mucous membranes (respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract).
Procedure
Preparation
It is necessary to refrain from eating 12-14 hours before the scheduled session. Drinking water is allowed.
Alcohol and drug use can significantly affect the result.
Procedure for determining the level of immunoglobulins
It is worth thoroughly disinfecting the site of exposure. After this, a careful puncture of the vessel is made. Then the fluid is collected. After venipuncture, blood is collected in an empty test tube or with gel. If a hematoma forms, warming compresses are prescribed instead of venipuncture.
Rehabilitation period
Immediately after the end of the collection of material, a bandage must be applied in time and the bleeding must be stopped. After taking blood, the patient can return to his usual diet and continue taking medications.
Indications
Main indications
- diagnosis of hypo- and hypergammaglobulinemia, as well as diseases of non-immune origin;
- monitoring the effectiveness of chemo- and radiation therapy;
- diagnosis of myeloma disease and Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia.
Contraindications
Poor clotting with a low platelet count in the blood is the only contraindication to determining the level of immunoglobulins.
Decoding the analysis
Increased concentration of immunoglobulins of one (G), two (G, M) or all three (G, M, A) classes can be observed in some autoimmune diseases, AIDS.
A significant decrease in the level is regarded as an indicator of weakening of the body's anti-infective defenses.
A slight or moderate decrease in the blood concentration of immunoglobulin M in elderly people is regarded as an age-related feature, and not as a sign of pathology.
Prices and clinics
The service is provided in private and public clinics. The study is prescribed by a rheumatologist. You can find out more detailed information on the medical portal .
