General information

C-reactive protein is produced during periods of exacerbation of inflammatory processes. C-reactive protein (CRP) is a non-glycosylated protein that is transferred electrophoretically to the environment of the gamma zone of electrophoresis. It is produced in the liver, stimulates the body's immune response to the inflammatory process. The level of C-reactive protein in the blood serum depends on the severity of the disease.

The concentration of CRP increases rapidly during the inflammatory process, bacterial and parasitic infection, neoplasms, injuries, tissue necrosis.
