General information
In this case, the virus affects not only the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, but also, Affects the nervous system, causing neurotoxicosis. Symptoms include prolonged hyperthermia (above 38.5), severe headaches and muscle pain, pain when moving the eyeballs, and prolonged asthenic syndrome after recovery. The need for vaccination also increases due to complications - pneumonia, encephalitis, myocarditis.
The use of several groups of vaccines is permitted:
- inactivated whole-virion - used from 7 years nasally 2 times with an interval of 3-4 weeks (Grippovak);
- live attenuated - from 3 to 14 years twice every 3-4 weeks in the nose, after 14 years - 0.25 ml in each nasal passage once (Microgen);
- split - only the surface antigen and internal proteins of the virus are used, from 6 months once (Vaxigrip, Vegrivak, Fluarix);
- inactivated subunit - similar to the previous one, but without the protein fraction, from 6 months one dose (Influvac);
- inactivated subunit with polyoxidonium (immunomodulator) - from the second half of life, one injection (Grippol, Grippol+);
- virosomal - contains a surface antigen with a virosomal complex that enhances the immune response (Inflexal W).
Each vaccine is available in a separate package with a syringe and needle in a dose of 0.5 ml.
Preparation for vaccination
A doctor's examination is required, as well as temperature measurement, clarification of individual indications and the type of vaccine.
Process of implementation
In Russia, this immunization is enshrined in the national vaccination program. Grippol or Grippol+ are widely used. For older children - into the upper third of the outer surface of the shoulder, 0.5 ml.
Indications
The influenza virus is very variable, especially serotypes A and B.
Immunobiological preparations are updated every year depending on the epidemiological forecast, so vaccination is carried out annually.
Immunity after administration is developed by the end of the second week, sufficient for the entire period of the epidemic. Vaccination is indicated 1-3 months before the expected outbreak.
