General information
Strabismus is a pathology that manifests itself in a violation of the parallelism of the visual axes of the eyes. When focusing the gaze, the axes do not intersect due to the fact that the eyes are directed in different directions. Therefore, binocular vision, that is, allowing one to estimate the distance between observed objects, three-dimensional vision, cannot be realized to the fullest extent. Since each eye presents a picture of the surrounding reality as if from its own angle, the visual part of the brain perceives the signal from only one of them, therefore, with strabismus, there is no double vision in the eyes. The signal coming from the other eye is suppressed. Because of this, the vision of the squinting eye decreases.
Methods for treating strabismus:
