General information

Depending on the course, there are such types:

  • Acute urticaria. The most common form, characterized by the sudden appearance of blisters after interaction with an allergen and lasts from several hours to several weeks.
  • Chronic urticaria. It is characterized by less extensive rashes that can occur on different parts of the body. Manifestations are periodic, they appear and disappear over a long period of time. The painful condition lasts more than six weeks and is caused by the presence of various infectious diseases.

Procedure

Therapeutic actions depend on the form, stage and cause of the ailment. To determine them, it will be necessary to conduct a detailed diagnosis.

To make a diagnosis and determine the allergen, the doctor uses:

  • a survey to collect information about the causes and factors of occurrence, the existence of a tendency in close relatives;
  • a visual examination to determine the nature, degree of progression, area of prevalence;
  • allergy tests;
  • skin biopsy;
  • blood test (general, biochemical, for syphilis, immunoglobulins, hepatitis);
  • urine and stool analysis;

  • restriction contact with irritants;
  • antihistamines in the form of tablets, ointments, solutions, gels to eliminate the symptoms of inflammation;
  • corticosteroid hormonal drugs in combination with adrenaline for severe manifestations;
  • antiallergic and steroid ointments, cooling compresses to relieve swelling and eliminate itching;
  • photodesensitizing drugs;
  • physiotherapeutic procedures.

For prevention, it is recommended to follow a number of rules:

  • exclude drugs that can cause an allergic reaction;
  • follow a hypoallergenic diet;
  • give up bad habits (alcohol, smoking);
  • avoid active physical activity, overheating and cooling, stressful situations;
  • timely identify and treat accompanying diseases.
Allergic urticaria can be an independent disease or be a manifestation of another disease.

The main factor in the presence of this type of allergic rash is direct contact with the provoking substance.

The main factors contributing to the development of this disease include:

  • food products (fruits, berries, eggs, seafood, dairy products, etc.);
  • pharmaceuticals;
  • fungal, bacterial, viral infections;
  • poison released by insect bites;
  • impurities in the air (pollen flowering plants, dust, fungal spores, fluff);
  • physical irritants (sharp temperature changes, water, light, cold, vibration, pressure);
  • chemical toxins and substances contained in household products;
  • the presence of other deviations and pathologies;
  • disorders in the nervous system, stress.

Manifested symptoms:

  • formation of red blisters;
  • itching, burning, inflammation of areas;
  • swelling;
  • disorders of the nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular systems, gastrointestinal tract.

Contraindications

During the treatment of this disease, attention should be paid to individual drug intolerance. Some medications are contraindicated for children and pregnant women.

The main serious complication of the disease is Quincke's edema (severe swelling of the skin and mucous membranes).

The disease can be chronic.
