Causes

This disease can develop in the following cases:

  • previously undergone surgery;
  • endometriosis;
  • acute inflammatory processes of the uterus;
  • inflammation of the peritoneum of the small pelvis.

Serozoceles have an oval or round shape. The diameter of the formation, as a rule, ranges from 1 to 25 cm. Serozoceles can be single-chamber and multi-chamber. The tumor cavity is filled with a yellow viscous liquid.

Symptoms

The clinical picture of serozocele is not particularly specific, and the symptoms are similar to those that appear with ovarian cysts.

The main signs of this disease are:

  • lower back pain;
  • lower abdominal pain;
  • painful menstruation.

The pain is constant, bothers the patient every day, and under the influence of certain factors (hypothermia, physical labor, sexual intercourse, stress) it intensifies.

The consequence of debilitating pain is loss of ability to work, apathy, weakening of the immune system.

In principle, serozocele and pregnancy are compatible, but this situation should not go beyond medical supervision, since such proximity can lead to compression of the pelvic organs and disruption of blood supply, which can cause complications during pregnancy. In case of severe pain syndrome and compression of the pregnant uterus, a puncture biopsy is indicated.

Treatment

Treatment is not always required in this case. If the tumor is small and asymptomatic, then periodic monitoring is sufficient . However, if accelerated growth of the neoplasm is detected, an operation is required, during which a needle is inserted into the cavity of the neoplasm, with the help of which the liquid contents are removed.

Thanks to this procedure, the pressure on the surrounding tissues is immediately stopped. The extracted fluid is subjected to bacterial culture analysis, which allows determining the presence of infections, fungal infections and identifying bacterial flora for the rational selection of antibiotics. After the operation, anti-inflammatory therapy is carried out. In addition to anti-inflammatory drugs, you should take medications that prevent the formation of adhesions, as well as undergo a course of physiotherapy.
