  • dynamic or facial - the reason for the occurrence of this group of muscles is associated with the constant muscle activity of the facial skin in the eye area (frequent alternating wrinkling and straightening of the skin with contractions of a certain group of muscles). These muscles become most noticeable by the age of 30. They look like a network of fine wrinkles. It is this group of wrinkles that are the first to form near the eyes. These wrinkles cannot be corrected with any cosmetic products.

Causes

Causes that lead to the formation of wrinkles around the eyes:

  • heredity;
  • increased emotionality of a person;
  • the presence of myopia (a person is forced to constantly squint);
  • changes in the deep layers of the dermis
  • frequent tension of the skin in the eye area;
  • various adverse effects on the periorbital region;
  • significant load that falls on the eye area when blinking, squinting, crying, laughing, etc.;
  • age (women are more susceptible);
  • hormonal disorders that lead to a violation of the elasticity of the skin (for example, during the postmenopausal period, women begin to develop this skin defect);
  • chronic fatigue;
  • lack of sleep;
  • poor nutrition;
  • exposure to the sun;
  • frequent stress;
  • drinking alcoholic beverages;
  • smoking;
  • an ecologically unfavorable situation in the place of residence (for example, exceeding the permissible level of harmful impurities in water and air;
  • use of low-quality cosmetics;
  • use of cosmetics not intended for this area of the face;
  • rubbing various masks, creams or scrubs into the periorbital zone;
  • intensive use of mascara when makeup;
  • intensive use of eyeshadow in makeup;
  • long-term work at the computer;
  • excessive eye strain;
  • impaired blood supply and metabolism in the eye area;
  • features of the anatomical structure of the face (for example, drooping upper eyelids, bags under the eyes, drooping eyebrows, deep-set eyes);
  • genetic predisposition.
The main reason for the appearance of wrinkles in the eye area is age-related changes in the skin of the face.

Symptoms

Age-related aging of the skin begins with the appearance of wrinkles in the eye area. This is due to the fact that the epidermis layer in this area is the thinnest (about 0.5 mm, which is four times thinner than the thickness of the facial skin. There are no sebaceous and sweat glands near the eyes, as well as subcutaneous fat. There are few blood vessels and muscle tissue in this area.

Collagen fibers (provide elasticity and firmness of the skin) in the eye area have a rather rare mesh structure, which causes slight stretching of the skin in this area of the face. The presence of a loose layer of subcutaneous tissue increases the tendency to edema. Also, the increased dynamism of this area has a great impact on the formation of wrinkles (people constantly frown, blink, squint, laugh and cry.

Symptoms of wrinkles around the eyes:

  • the skin in this area loses its freshness;
  • on fine wrinkles may form on the skin;
  • wrinkles are less noticeable at first;
  • wrinkles become more noticeable when smiling, squinting, and expressing other emotions;
  • puffiness and edema may develop;
  • over time, the skin becomes less elastic;
  • after a certain time, the folds around the eyes become more pronounced;
  • they are visible even when a person does not express any emotions;
  • a characteristic wrinkled pattern forms near the eyes;
  • the face becomes more tired;
  • wrinkles around the eyes add extra years to the face;
  • mental disorders may appear: decreased self-esteem, a person considers himself old, which can lead to the development of depression, the inner pleasure of life decreases, a person becomes more gloomy, cheerfulness decreases (especially characteristic of women).

Diagnostics

If you have this cosmetic defect, you need to make an appointment and consultation with a cosmetologist. Wrinkles in the area around the eyes are diagnosed during the initial examination by a specialist and do not require additional research.

Treatment

Treatment of this aesthetic skin defect in the eye area consists of prescribing cosmetics: ointments, creams, scrubs. But they can only slow down and disguise the process of wrinkle formation. Moreover, expression wrinkles cannot be corrected by this method at all. The most effective means of combating such a defect are Botox injections, contour plastic surgery, mesotherapy and blepharoplasty.

Prevention

As a preventive measure against wrinkles around the eyes, it is necessary to follow certain rules:

  • good rest;
  • good sleep;
  • proper nutrition;
  • care for the skin around the eyes after 30 years.
