General Information
The results enable diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori infection, atrophic gastritis, and assessment of risks for stomach cancer, ulcers, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. They also determine the need for gastroscopy and histological analysis.
Procedure Process
Preparation
Patients must:
- Stop medications affecting gastric secretion a week prior and acid-neutralizing drugs a day before;
- Avoid physical strain and alcohol 24 hours prior.
Smoking and eating before blood collection are not recommended.
Gastropanel Procedure
Performed on an empty stomach, it involves drawing venous blood. The patient then drinks a 100 mL soy protein solution to stimulate gastrin secretion. After 15-20 minutes, a second blood sample is taken and analyzed with the first.

The procedure is contraindicated if the patient is allergic to soy, dairy, chocolate, or eggs, as these are components of the protein cocktail required for results.
