Mastopexy. Prices, reviews, ratings
General information
On average, the operation takes from an hour to three. It depends on the chosen lifting method, the amount of tissue to be removed, and the professionalism of the plastic surgeon. Most often, the operation is accompanied by nipple or areola plastic surgery. It is also necessary in cases of changes in the shape of the nipple (indentation, flattening) or a large areola. Repeated lifting can only be performed in case of mastopexy of large breasts. In other cases, it is contraindicated. However, only a qualified specialist can give a definitive answer. There are 2 methods of performing the operation: B-technique and vertical lifting. Such methods have different ways of performing and applying preoperative markings on the chest.
Procedure
Preparation
Before the operation, the patient must undergo:
- preliminary examination of the breast, ECG,
- laboratory tests of urine and blood;
- other diagnostics as prescribed by the doctor.
A consultation with a mammologist may be necessary. Also, before the operation, all inflammatory processes must be eliminated and the immune system restored. Two weeks before the mastopexy, the patient must stop drinking alcohol and smoking, and also stop taking medications.
Breast lift procedure
Breast mastopexy is performed under general anesthesia. If the breast lift involves a small amount of work, the doctor may prescribe local anesthesia. Most often, the doctor makes an anchor-shaped incision strictly along the contours of the breast. After this, excess skin is removed along the previously made marks and new contours and areolas are designated.
The suture is usually placed in the circumference of the areola strictly vertically (depending on the choice of lifting method). If the operation is performed professionally, the scar is practically invisible after recovery.
Features of the operation depend on the choice of breast lift technique.
Rehabilitation period
The main rehabilitation measures after the operation consist of observing the following requirements:
- refusing to take a hot bath, visit a bathhouse or sauna in the first three weeks;
- wearing a bra is mandatory;
- refusing to play sports and physical activity at the discretion of the doctor.
Indications
This breast surgery is suitable for those who:
- elastic skin of the breast in combination with sagging of the gland, insufficient breast volume;
- stretched skin in combination with its inelasticity, insufficient breast volume;
- hyperstretched skin of the gland, problems with the size and volume of the breast.
Also, breast lift is suitable for those who want to correct their breasts and restore their elasticity and natural volume. For example, this applies to women who have a normal breast shape or volume, as well as those who have breast ptosis.
Contraindications
Mastopexy surgery is absolutely not suitable for those who have been diagnosed with:
- scars on the chest;
- fibrocystic diseases;
- chronic, infectious and systemic diseases;
- mental disorders or abnormalities.
Patients suffering from obesity, cancer and those with diabetes should not undergo a lift.
Complications
Breast lift is a complex operation that can lead to serious complications:
- early — occur immediately or within a few months after surgery. These include hematomas, bruises, swelling, suture divergence, problems with nipple nutrition, as well as marginal skin necrosis;
- late — may appear several months after surgery. Most often, this is deformation of the mammary gland or nipple, development of secondary ptosis, various defects of the areola.
Your doctor will help prevent and eliminate complications.
