Nipple correction. Prices, reviews, ratings
General information
The nipple plays an important role in the beauty of the breast. It is its central part, the most sensitive area. Because of this, people with congenital or acquired defects and pathological conditions of this part of the body seek help from a plastic surgeon. In addition to the disruption of the aesthetic function, nipple deformation can affect the breastfeeding process. For example, with an elongated nipple, it is more difficult for a child to feed, in addition, due to the accumulation of milk particles, a nutrient medium is created for bacteria. The sexual function of the nipples should not be ignored either.
Typically, nipple correction surgery is used for the following defects:
- a sunken nipple due to underdevelopment of the milk ducts;
- an overly convex nipple;
- an asymmetrical arrangement of the nipples;
- an inaccurate shape of the areola of the nipple (the dark pigment circle immediately surrounding the nipple), its size is too large.
Procedure
Preparation
Nipple correction is performed either as an independent operation or as part of breast correction. In the case of a separate procedure, it lasts about an hour, and either general or local anesthesia can be used depending on the extent of the intervention. Before the procedure, it is necessary to undergo a course of diagnostic procedures, for example, take blood tests for sugar, coagulation indicators and other characteristics.
Breast reconstruction procedure
The inversion of the nipple is changed by a specific incision that the plastic surgeon makes on the border of this very pigment circle. In extreme cases, it is necessary to cut the milk duct. In this case, the woman will not be able to breastfeed, but with severe inversion of the nipple, she was most likely deprived of this opportunity before. However, the need to cut off the duct rarely occurs, because, as a rule, the ability to breastfeed only improves.
When correcting the areola of the nipple, there is no deep work with the breast tissue, but only an effect on the superficial layers.
If there are problems with the shape of the nipple itself, the surgeon either excises it or reconstructs it.
Rehabilitation period
If we are talking about nipple correction as an independent procedure, then the rehabilitation does not last long, literally a few days, during which the hematomas disappear. For a few more weeks, you should avoid strenuous physical activity.
The scars become invisible after about two months.
Indications
Nipple correction is a highly specialized plastic surgery that is performed for certain nipple deformations, whether it is too large or too small, retraction, asymmetry, or areolas that are too large and untidy. The operation is performed at the patient's request.
Contraindications
Nipple correction surgery is contraindicated in cases of mastopathy, poor blood clotting, and skin prone to scarring.
Complications
In addition to the formation of abrasions, the main complication of this operation is temporary loss of sensitivity.
Prices and clinics
Nipple correction is a fairly simple operation, but only if the surgeon has sufficient experience and skills. The price of this procedure depends on the place where it is performed.
