General information

CT of the brain is based on processing, using software, the difference in the passage of X-rays through tissues of the body that differ in density. After computer processing, the scans are converted into three-dimensional multilayer images.

Contraindications

Contrast CT of the brain is contraindicated in children if there is an allergy to iodine, severe renal failure. This procedure is not performed if there is a plaster cast or metal implant in the area being examined.

Complications

Photoscanning is quick, easy and painless. Discomfort can be caused by limited movement and a cold surface to lie on. The use of contrast can cause a feeling of a rush of heat, a metallic taste.

Itching and rash may appear, which can be treated or they will quickly go away on their own. More serious signs of allergy are dizziness and difficulty breathing. If anesthesia is used, it will take some time to wake up. It is better to stay in the department for this period.
