Finger deformities, the treatment of which must be started immediately, are a sign of serious inflammatory processes in the joints.

General information

Onset of symptoms changes in the shape of joints at the age of thirty may indicate the presence of rheumatoid arthritis. This disease usually occurs in a chronic form. The fingers and wrists suffer the most: they gradually become deformed. In addition, irreversible phenomena in the surrounding muscles can be observed.

Thickening in the form of nodules on the fingers, which usually appear in elderly people, are a sign of deforming osteoarthritis. The painful condition usually does not progress, and is manifested only by minor pain and crunching during work.

Changes in the appearance and structure of the joint of the bones can also be caused by such a complex disease as polyarthritis - simultaneous or sequential inflammation in several foci. This disease can occur independently, but is more often a consequence of other diseases - rheumatism, sepsis, tuberculosis, gonorrhea, etc.

In some cases, pathologies occur with minor changes in the body parts, in others they have a significant impact on the surrounding tissues - cartilage, bones, capsules, joint bags and ligaments.

Process

Diagnostics

Diagnostics of finger deformities begins with a general blood test and radiography. If foreign fluid is detected in the bone structure, a sample of this fluid is prescribed for subsequent analysis and determination of the nature of its occurrence.

Treatment

Therapy for deformities initially involves eliminating the underlying cause that caused the adverse effects.

At the first stage of the fight against the disease, the doctor prescribes antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and painkillers.

Depending on the nature of the disorders, hormonal agents, physiotherapeutic procedures may also be prescribed - for example, paraffin therapy, therapeutic exercises, massage, etc.

The question of performing surgery on diseased areas of the limb arises in severe forms of pathology, when the patient loses the ability to work. The surgeon will first eliminate foci of tissue inflammation, restore the damaged tendons, give the desired shape and, if necessary, install prostheses to support it. Often, changes in the distal sections of the upper limbs are the consequences of disorders in the wrist section, so surgical corrections in this area are part of a set of measures.

Indications

If there are pronounced constant signs of finger changes, joint pain when performing routine activities, swelling, impaired mobility and any other discomfort, contact the clinic for tests. In the early stages, any disease is much easier to treat.

Contraindications

The consequences of this inflammatory disease can be disfigurement and even complete immobility of the structural units of the limb. Arthritis complications appear gradually and are not immediately noticeable, so regular preventive examinations by specialists are necessary.

Prices and clinics

Since the above pathologies can have many causes, then the therapy should be carried out by doctors of different specializations. Initially, the patient should contact his attending physician, who, if necessary, will refer him to a rheumatologist, surgeon, orthopedist or traumatologist. In large clinics, arthritis problems are treated by an arthrologist. You can find out the days of reception and the cost of consultations with specialists on the medical portal .
