General information

In heat therapy, heat carriers are therapeutic mud, paraffin, ozokerite, sand, peat. Their healing properties are due to the ability to retain heat for a long time and gradually release it. The heat capacity and thermal conductivity of each heat carrier are different, which allows them to be used to treat various diseases in both children and adult patients. The use of the technique allows for local treatment without the use of drug therapy.

The main therapeutic effects of heat therapy are anti-inflammatory, metabolic, trophic-regenerative, vasodilating and antispasmodic.

Procedure

Before heat therapy, a consultation with a physiotherapist is required, who, after conducting the necessary studies, will prescribe the necessary type of heat treatment.

Heat treatment

Depending on the method of treatment chosen by the doctor, the patient undergoes a course of heat therapy, the process of which depends on its type. Contraindications

It is not recommended to use therapy in case of:

  • acute purulent pathologies;
  • chronic diseases in the stage of decompensation;
  • benign or malignant neoplasms;
  • diseases of the cardiovascular system;
  • pregnancy;
  • atherosclerosis;
  • liver cirrhosis;
  • coronary insufficiency;
  • pathologies of the nervous system associated with impaired sensitivity in any of the areas body.

As a rule, no consequences are observed.
