Types
In medicine, there are classifications of this disease. By origin, the following types are distinguished:
- primary - occur regardless of other diseases;
- secondary - due to the development of other ailments (various infections, autoimmune dysfunctions).
By the mechanism of development, the disease is divided into the following types:
- diathesis, in the etiology of which there is an increase in the permeability of the walls of arteries and veins - vitamin deficiency C, vasculitis and others;
- arising due to changes in the properties and number of platelets - thrombocytopenic purpura, thrombasthenia and others;
- the cause of which is a violation of blood clotting in hemophilia, vitamin deficiencies and other ailments.
Causes
Certain factors play an important role in the development of the disease. Among them:
- damage to platelets or vessel walls due to the occurrence of autoimmune diseases;
- disruption of the process of platelet formation;
- damage to blood vessels during fever;
- some liver pathologies;
- use of anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents;
- lack of vitamin C;
- congenital pathologies in which the properties of blood vessels are impaired - hemophilia and others;
- damage to the body by viral or bacterial infections;
- use of certain drugs that increase the permeability of arteries and veins.
Symptoms
The entire set of symptoms is combined into a hemorrhagic syndrome, which is characterized by: hemorrhages in the skin and mucous membranes, the appearance of nasal, uterine and other types of hemorrhages, detection of red blood cells in urine or feces, the occurrence of swelling and pain in the joints.
The main symptom is the appearance of bright red rashes on the skin, localized on the front of the thighs, shins, feet.
Diagnostics
In order to establish a diagnosis, the following examinations are recommended: general and biochemical analysis of blood, urine; coagulogram (determination of coagulability), serum analysis for trace elements, thromboplastin generation test - is carried out to determine the immune status.
Treatment
During treatment, hematologists use certain methods, which include: taking corticosteroid drugs, taking vitamin complexes, surgical removal of the spleen, transfusion of red blood cells, plasma, taking iron-containing drugs - in case of anemia, joint puncture - if blood accumulates in its cavity.
Prevention
