Stages

Addiction is formed after taking the drug in significant doses several times a week.

In the initial stages, hallucinations occur that distort outlines, lines, colors and sounds, it may seem that a person hears colors and sees sounds. There is a feeling that the shape of the body and time frames are changing. Often, the perception of the world changes, the brain is stimulated, the person who took the pills perceives what is happening and the world around him more deeply.

After the formation of psychological dependence, a person begins to suffer from nightmares and scary thoughts, anxiety and despair, panic fear of death, and possibly madness. Self-control is lost.

Causes

“Acid” has been popular with young people since the 1960s. For a long time, the drug was used to treat mental illnesses and disorders in psychiatric practice, meditation. However, its use was soon banned because the consequences of its use do not justify the short-term positive effect.

LSD is most often distributed illegally in the form of so-called stamps, a colored paper square soaked in an LSD solution, less often in the form of tablets, powder, liquid or gelatin pads.

Hallucinogenic drugs of this type disrupt the rationality of human thinking, distorting their ideas about space and time, colors and shapes. They have a short-term effect on mood and perception, which leads to loss of self-control and uncontrolled reactions.

Symptoms

A dangerous manifestation of LSD addiction is:

  • derealization (loss of spatial-temporal orientation);
  • depersonalization (feeling of being lost, alienated, sudden changes in mood and emotions);
  • hallucinations;
  • psychosis.

If such symptoms are observed, you should immediately make an appointment with a narcologist and psychologist.

The effect of lysergic acid diethylamide lasts up to 12 hours. The effect begins to be felt half an hour after taking. In this case, you can experience sweating, changes in heart rate, increased blood pressure, dizziness, trembling and numbness of the limbs, and loss of appetite.

A consultation with a narcologist is important, since the patient quickly begins to suffer from rapid transitions from a state of euphoria to panic and psychosis.

Diagnostics

The presence of the drug can be diagnosed using a urine test. At the same time, special tests and complex analyses are used, but the drug can be detected no later than 2-5 days after use.

Treatment

It will take a long period of time to get rid of addiction to the drug. Treatment is carried out by specialized rehabilitation centers. After giving up LSD, there is no withdrawal, so doctors recommend stopping taking it immediately. Individual and group psychotherapy is effective in eliminating the addiction that has formed. Psychotherapists, psychologists and narcologists work with the patient.

Prevention

The likelihood of developing a mental disorder, prolonged depression, apathy is high in people with diseases of the central nervous system and psyche. It is important to refuse the proposed “happiness pills” for those who have a fragile psyche. You should lead an active lifestyle, avoid exhaustion of the central nervous system, problems with the cardiovascular system.
