For representatives of Eastern peoples - Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Vietnamese and others - the Asian cross-section is typical. The reason for this property lies in the lack of connective tissue fibers connecting the dermis of one part of the eye with the aponeurosis of the muscle that pulls it up.

This structure in Asians is genetically determined.

The skin layer is also inherent in those who have characteristic deviations from birth, for example, patients with Down syndrome. As a result of trauma and the appearance of scars, an acquired epicanthus occurs.

The Mongolian fold is recognized as a developmental phenomenon if it is not present in a person of the Mongoloid or Australo-Negroid race.

Symptoms

The Asian eye cross-section has many distinctive characteristics. Among them:

  • narrow palpebral fissure;
  • lack of expression of the upper component;
  • high eyebrows;
  • epicanthus - the dermis of the inner side of the eye, hiding the lacrimal tubercle;
  • hard dermal cover;
  • the face seems sleepy or tired;
  • swelling of the visual organs due to excess fat.

Diagnostics

Detecting the disease is not particularly difficult. An ophthalmologist can visually determine the nature of the structure of the eye. Prescriptions for modification will be the absence of supraorbital skin, the presence of a Mongoloid feature, a slight slit, vision problems, personal preferences. Next, a surgeon's consultation is required. He selects the correction method on an individual basis. Before the operation, it is better to conduct the following studies:

  • general blood and urine tests;
  • biochemical blood tests;
  • coagulogram;
  • examination by a surgeon and anesthesiologist.

Treatment

Since the features of the Asian view form a deficiency of the supraorbital skin and the presence of epicanthus, the surgical intervention consists in the formation of additional epithelium on the upper part and the elimination of the covers in the corners. The disadvantage of the double supraorbital phenomenon is associated with the characteristics of the anatomical constitution of this type, in the upper parts of which there are no connective fibers. The task of the correction will be the formation of the desired cover in the form of a scar between the aponeurosis and the skin or an insertion between the skin and the muscle. Correctness includes a separate type of blepharoplasty, during which the overhang of the upper component is formed, the formation covering the lacrimal tubercle is eliminated, and other signs of the defect are corrected.

The purpose of the intervention is to give the eyes a classic look, increase the field of vision, change the direction of eyelash growth to the top, which visually makes the organs younger and more expressive. Two main plastic techniques are used: without incisions and with them. The first method is applicable for thin epidermis. In all other cases, the method with an incision is practiced, carried out by experienced plastic surgeons using local anesthesia. Point incisions at the site of the elements are used to isolate and remove a small dermal layer, as well as excessive mass of fat and muscle tissue. The sections are sutured with intradermal sutures.

After the manipulation, an aseptic bandage is applied for several hours. Analgesics are prescribed to prevent pain. The stitches are removed after a few days. Swelling and bruising subside within a week. After that, specialist observation is required for several months. A lasting cosmetic effect lasts for life after one successful correction.

Prevention

If the eastern size is present in people of a non-Mongoloid or Australo-Negroid race, you should consult a doctor to remove this defect. Among eastern people, such correction is quite common. It is imperative to carry out timely treatment of eye pathologies that can lead to the occurrence of eyelid anomalies.

It is strictly forbidden to treat eye diseases on your own, as this can lead to serious consequences. It is recommended that therapy be carried out by a qualified specialist, since each case of anomaly should be considered individually. When carrying out various surgical interventions on organs, safety measures must be observed.
