Pelvic ultrasound is a complex diagnostic measure covering a whole group of systems. Women need the examination to assess the ovaries, uterus and its cervix, fallopian tubes, and bladder. Men undergo analysis of the seminal vesicles, bladder, and prostate gland. The structure being examined is directly related to the different types of sensor access to the working area: abdominal (through the skin), vaginal (through the vagina), rectal (through the rectum).

As a result of this exchange, an image of the internal structures and the object of diagnosis appears on the monitor.
