Laser liposuction of the thighs is a process of breaking down fat deposits in different zonally localized areas of the thighs using a special laser that operates at low frequencies.

General information

Due to the less invasiveness and comparatively increased safety and painlessness of the procedure, liposuction, which is performed by laser, plays the role of one of the main alternatives to the mechanical method of removing fat tissue.

The incisions that the surgeon makes to insert hollow needles under the skin are very small, and the effect of these needles, which emit a low-frequency laser, is limited. Another advantage is that the laser has a double effect. On the one hand, it directly destroys fat deposits, and on the other, by heating the lower layers of the skin, it provokes rapid cell regeneration. Thus, both the reduction of fatty tissue and skin tightening occur.

When fatty tissue is destroyed by low-frequency radiation, it is easily removed from under the skin in a softened state through the same incisions using micropumps.

Procedure

Preparation

Since laser liposuction of the thighs, despite all its advantages, remains a surgical intervention, the patient must undergo a number of diagnostic procedures (take the same blood test) to ensure that there are no contraindications. The relatively low invasiveness of this procedure allows it to be performed under both general and local anesthesia. This depends on how much tissue will be exposed to laser irradiation. In this case, the patient's condition will be monitored by an anesthesiologist-resuscitator.

Laser liposuction procedure for thighs

The surgical impact is on the outer and inner thighs, rarely affecting the front and back, since they are much better corrected through simple exercise and diet.

During the operation, the plastic surgeon makes small, literally millimeter-sized punctures in the skin, through which cannulas are inserted. These hollow needles emit a low-frequency laser designed to destroy fat membranes over a strictly calculated area. The surgeon manipulates the position of the cannulas, covering individual areas of the thighs with the laser, strictly ensuring that the effect of the beams is limited to these areas.

Rehabilitation period

A patient after laser liposuction of the thighs needs a short, sometimes even one-day, rehabilitation period. At the same time, the pain syndrome in the vast majority of cases subsides after four days or earlier. However, for about two weeks after the operation, the patient must wear special corrective compression underwear.

The low-frequency laser emitted by the cannulas affects only small areas of tissue. Due to this, laser liposuction is one of the least traumatic types of modern plastic surgery.

Indications

In most cases, laser liposuction of the thighs is performed for aesthetic purposes. But sometimes the deposition of fatty tissue on the inner thigh provokes chafing of these especially delicate areas of skin during walking.

Contraindications

The main contraindications for liposuction of the thighs are:

  • treatment of the patient for oncological diseases by means of chemotherapy and other harsh methods of influencing the functioning of the body;
  • problems with blood clotting and cardiovascular diseases;
  • pregnancy (nursing mothers are also not allowed to undergo the operation);
  • liver dysfunction is also a contraindication to the operation.

Complications

The quality of the operation directly depends on how good the equipment was used by the plastic surgeon, as well as on his skill and experience. However, even with a successful operation, additional correction may be necessary. However, in some cases, physiotherapy, such as massage, is sufficient.

Prices and clinics

Although laser liposuction of the thighs seems like an easy operation for the patient due to its low invasiveness, it requires great skill and experience from the surgeon, as well as excellent equipment in his office. Therefore, not every clinic offers this kind of service. Prices depend on the location of the clinic and its equipment.
