Sexology is a branch of medicine that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sexual disorders of biological, psychological, anatomical and physiological nature in men and women.

A specialist who represents this area of medicine is a sexologist.

To make a diagnosis, a sexologist needs the results of laboratory blood tests, smears, as well as the results of diagnostic studies:

• spermogram for men;
• ultrasound of the pelvic organs, reproductive system organs for women;
• transrectal ultrasound of the prostate, seminal vesicles;
• endocrinological studies;
• pharmacodoplerographic study of the vessels of the genital member;
• Dopplerographic examination of the vessels of the penis;
• Microscopic examination methods.
