Symptoms that require you to see a narcologist:

  • dilated or constricted pupils;
  • redness or cloudiness of the eyes;
  • excessive pallor;
  • poor coordination of movements;
  • memory impairment;
  • frequent mood swings;
  • facial flushing;
  • rapid pulse and breathing;
  • increased blood pressure;
  • ataxia;
  • nystagmus;
  • dysarthria;
  • nausea, vomiting;
  • convulsions
  • tremor.

Most often, addicts do not contact a narcologist with their problems, since they do not consider themselves addicted to alcohol or drugs. Symptoms of addiction can be seen by others, relatives, colleagues.

  • delirium tremens;
  • alcoholic depression;
  • alcoholic hallucinosis;
  • alcoholic paranoid;
  • alcoholic epilepsy;
  • alcoholic encephalopathy;

  • Korsakov's psychosis;
  • drug addiction.

Diagnostics and treatment measures in narcology

To make the main diagnosis, the narcologist needs only the results of the narcological screening. To identify additional (accompanying) pathologies, the doctor may prescribe a number of diagnostic measures:

  • electroencephalogram of the brain;
  • ultrasound of the abdominal organs;
  • electrocardiography;
  • immunochromatographic analysis;
  • RH-graphy of the chest organs.
