Ultrasound of the knee joint is a fairly common examination when there is a suspicion of the development of pathologies and inflammatory processes, injuries in the knee area. Timely diagnostics allows you to detect the problem in time and prevent complications. In terms of information content, ultrasound diagnostics of the knee joint is not inferior to computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, but is much more accessible. It should be taken into account that the advantage of ultrasound is also that this is an atraumatic study that does not cause any harm to the body and can be carried out repeatedly, which makes it possible to monitor the treatment process.

  • in pain symptoms;
  • in swelling and the presence of deformation.

Contraindications to the procedure

As with any other diagnostics, everything should be discussed in advance at a preliminary consultation with a doctor.

Knee joint ultrasound: is preparation necessary?
