Septoplasty. Prices, reviews, ratings
General information
A deviated nasal septum makes breathing difficult, causes snoring and prevents a person from living a full life. Also, incorrect cartilaginous structure of the nose often becomes the cause of aesthetic problems, since the curvature can be so pronounced that the shape of the nose itself suffers from it. Therefore, it is not surprising that septoplasty is a very popular procedure. This operation affects the internal structure of the nose, eliminating breathing difficulties.
Quite often, the surgeon suggests supplementing septoplasty with rhinoplasty, since, for example, with a facial injury, both the shape of the nose and the septum can suffer.
Procedure
Preparation
Septoplasty is a serious procedure related to otolaryngology. As preparation, it is necessary to undergo a number of diagnostic procedures, take blood tests to find out whether the patient suffers from infectious or other ailments. Septoplasty procedure During the procedure, the surgeon excises the cartilaginous areas that have been deformed. Thanks to the preliminary exfoliation of the mucous membrane, its integrity is preserved.
During the operation, minimal, reconstructive excision of the cartilaginous tissue occurs. The operation itself lasts from one to two hours.
Currently, two main methods are most popular:
- laser septoplasty, which reduces swelling and minimizes the risk of infection in the wound;
- endoscopic septoplasty, thanks to which you can count on the most acceptable aesthetic effect.
Rehabilitation period
For several days after the operation, you will have to breathe only through your mouth, and your nose will be fixed with special tampons. The swelling lasts up to 10 days, physical activity should be avoided for about a month.
