Temporal lift is an effect on the area in the upper third of the face near the temples, performed by a plastic surgeon with the aim of smoothing out wrinkles and giving the patient's skin a more youthful appearance.

General information

Over time, age-related changes increasingly begin to undermine beauty. One of the main signs of aging is the appearance of skin folds and wrinkles, for example, in the eye area, on the forehead. A change in the eyebrow line is also one of the signs of gradual aging. The elasticity and firmness of the skin are gradually lost. One of the possible solutions is a temporal lift.

During this procedure, a plastic surgeon tightens the facial tissues using a relatively small area of influence, making incisions only on the temples, at the edge of the hair.

At the same time, the effectiveness of the procedure is very high, since the skin around the eyes, cheekbones and, of course, the forehead of the patient is tightened.

Procedure

Preparation

The patient must visit a surgeon in advance, as well as take a number of tests. These procedures will help to determine the desired result, and will also give the doctor the opportunity to check whether the patient has any diseases or pathologies that may be contraindications to the procedure.

Temporal lift procedure

Temporal lift is performed under local anesthesia, being a relatively minimally invasive procedure. At the edge of the hair on the temples on both sides, a fairly small and even incision is made. Through it, the plastic surgeon tightens the tissues on the temples and fixes their new position, and then applies stitches. The operation is quite simple, although it requires certain skills from the specialist who performs it.

The procedure usually lasts no more than one hour.

Rehabilitation period

The recovery period includes the following recommendations, restrictions and nuances:

  • stitches are removed only after a week;
  • the first few days, usually five, it is necessary to wear a special bandage, which acts as a fixator;
  • physical activity must be avoided for about two weeks;
  • it is necessary to exclude visits to the solarium and the beach for the first time;
  • you will have to refuse to visit the sauna and bathhouse for the period that the surgeon will specify after the operation.

Indications and contraindications

The main indication for this plastic surgery is age-related changes in facial skin. However, temporal lifting is also used as one of a number of procedures that can represent a whole complex of effects aimed at changing the shape of the face, improving the condition of the skin and correcting the shape of the eyes.

Contraindications

Diabetes mellitus, cancer are the main contraindications to this operation. Also, the operation is not performed during the period of acute infectious diseases and with poor blood clotting in the patient.

Complications

Side effects may appear after the operation. Most often, swelling appears, which subsides within a few days. But unplanned complications can also arise, for example, suppuration, infectious infections. However, the results of this operation are positive in most cases.

Prices and clinics

Temporal lifting is performed in specialized clinics and medical care centers that deal with plastic surgery. The price of the procedure directly depends on where exactly the operation was performed.
