Therapy is a field of clinical medicine that studies the course, causes and clinical manifestations of diseases of internal organs. Therapy includes non-surgical treatment, diagnostics, rehabilitation and prevention. This specialization is represented by general practitioners.

Symptoms that require a visit to a general practitioner:

  • cough;
  • chronic fatigue;
  • runny nose;
  • sore throat;
  • insomnia;
  • headaches and migraines;
  • high blood pressure;
  • general weakness;
  • loss of appetite.

Diseases that therapy studies

Therapy includes the doctor's responsibilities of prescribing medications and monitoring their effects (including side effects) during treatment:

  • colds, infections;
  • ARI and flu;
  • anemia;
  • lung and bronchial diseases (bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis);
  • cardiovascular abnormalities;
  • leukemia;
  • gastrointestinal diseases;
  • neurological disorders;
  • metabolic disorders;
  • pathologies of the spine, joints, bones, muscles.

As the disease progresses, therapy involves recommendations for specific preventive measures: spa and sanatorium treatment and physiotherapy.

Diagnostics and therapeutic measures in therapy

  • primary examination using tapping methods (percussion), listening to the lungs (auscultation), feeling specific areas of internal organs (palpation);
  • measuring blood pressure and pulse;
  • prescribing a diet and nutrition regimen;
  • urine and blood analysis;
  • collecting anamnesis - information about past illnesses, current complaints and symptoms, analyzing the medical history;
  • differential diagnostics;
  • identifying indicators that require immediate hospitalization of a person.

Therapy also uses additional diagnostic methods: ultrasound, laboratory and radiological studies. Therapists write out sick leave certificates and fill out medical records with information about the diagnosis and treatment.
