CT of the brain: what it shows

- if there is a suspicion of an inflammatory process or hemorrhage;
- after TBI;
- suspected cancer;
- after a stroke;
- brain cysts;
- after infectious diseases;
- thrombosis, aneurysm;
- regular headaches;
- before and after surgical interventions.
Contraindications to CT of the brain
Patients who have electronic devices, pacemakers, insulin pumps, metal prostheses in their bodies are forced to refuse diagnostics. Also, this study is contraindicated for pregnant women, patients with claustrophobia.
Preparation before the procedure
In case of using a contrast agent, diagnostics are carried out strictly on an empty stomach. Before doing a CT scan of the brain, you must remove all metal objects and accessories.
